A Brief History
1995
Produced Our First Mailer
In 1995 we produced our first mailer giving users the ability to purchase direct. The response blew us away! Obviously there was an untapped need for a supplier that offered prompt, friendly, and personal service coupled with express delivery. Our product range at that time included pens, felt pens, and whiteboard markers, and a range of modelling materials and glue sticks. Although this was very limited, there were a number of unique products that were introduced to schools in New Zealand for the first time.

Mask making kits
Another new and fantastic product for art classes in schools was the Platroc mask making kits. This was a roll of plaster-impregnated bandage that you simply cut to length, dipped in water, and then smoothed over a student’s face, or any other object you wanted to mould. After drying for a few minutes, hey, presto! there was a perfect mask that you could paint. Qizzle has made significant moves to reduce the cost of these items.
2012
Ordering student stationery packs online
In 2012, we added another service; our new Schoolpacks website. Now parents can order their child's school stationery pack quickly and easily online. Qizzle will deliver it to their door and the school can have confidence that the students will arrive with the correct stationery at the start of the school year. This has proved very popular, with many schools providing us with their class lists for us to load up to the website. Contact us now for more information on how this process works - it is easy for both the school and the parent.

Started as “Officeplan”
Qizzle started as "Officeplan" in May 1994. At this time the company had several agencies for writing instruments (edding), planning boards, modelling materials and systems (hence the original name). During the early days, we attempted to reach the users of these products via nationwide retailers and, although this was partly successful, we felt there was a better way to offer consistent supplies and savings.

Edding refillable whiteboard markers
Qizzle has its roots as an environmentally-friendly supplier. In 1995, Officeplan was first with a cost-saving, environmentally sustainable whiteboard marker – still the best available. Instead of throwing away your used marker, you could unscrew the nib and replenish the felt with a dropper bottle of refill ink. This was quickly recognised as an easy way to save money. We now offer two versions of this marker, depending on the refilling preference of the user. Qizzle continues to be a leader and innovator in bringing products to the market which save money and offer a range of benefits.

This is the key to the Qizzle success story and remains our focus. In an industry crowded with cumbersome corporates, Qizzle is the kiwi-owned "human" in the room. We give you service customised to your requirements and friendly support staff who follow the rule of exceptional customer service instead of a script. 2020 brings a new name... Qizzle
We’re proud of the role we play in New Zealand’s vibrant education sector, but with the important discussion and evolving global awareness of what is and isn’t appropriate in a healthy, modern society, we realised that our old name was no longer fit for purpose. And while we have a new name, the one thing that won’t change is our commitment to bring you an ever-evolving range of quality products and resources, and the same great service from our friendly and dedicated Kiwi-based team. So what is a Qizzle? Well, it's an invented word intended to hint at themes such as inquisitiveness and curiosity.
