Why Eeny Meeny?
In 2012 we took the plunge and rebranded our company, changing the name from Officeplan to Eeny Meeny. This was seen as a rather radical step by some but we long felt as a company we needed to better reflect our unique position in the market. Officeplan was a name that was hard to remember, sounded similar to some of our competitors and gave a confusing message as to what we did. We decided it was time to own 'our own space' in the market by having a name that was unique, hard to forget and have colours that belonged to us (in the market we were playing in), with a 'look and feel' that better reflected our personal friendly service. Education is all about the children and we wanted a non corporate, tactile, friendly brand. So Eeny Meeny was born and four friendly monsters were added, Eeny Meeny, Miny and Moe!
We’re here to improve the teaching and office environment, by delivering innovative products and unbeatable service.
A Brief History...
We purchased Officeplan in May 1994. At this time the company had several agencies for writing instruments (edding), planning boards, modelling materials and systems (hence the original name). During the early days we attempted to reach the users of these products via nationwide retailers and, although this was partly successful, we felt there was a better way to offer consistent supplies and savings.
In 1995 we produced our first mailer giving users the ability to purchase direct. The response blew us away! Obviously there was an untapped need for a supplier that offered prompt, friendly, and personal service coupled with an express delivery. Our product range at that time included pens, feltpens, and whiteboard markers, and a range of modelling materials and glue sticks. Although this was very limited, there were a number of unique products that were introduced to schools in New Zealand for the first time.
edding refillable whiteboard markers
In 1995, Officeplan was first with a cost saving, environmentally sustainable whiteboard marker – still the best available. Instead of throwing away your used marker, you could unscrew the nib and replenish the felt with a dropper bottle of refill ink. This was quickly recognised as an easy way to save money. We now offer two versions of this marker, depending on the refilling preference of the user. Eeny Meeny continues to be a leader and innovator in bringing products to the market which save money and offer a range of benefits.
Mask making kits
Another new and fantastic product for art classes in schools was the Platroc mask making kits. This was a roll of plaster-impregnated bandage that you simply cut to length, dipped in water, and then smoothed over a student’s face, or any other object you wanted to mould. After drying for a few minutes, hey, presto!, there was a perfect mask that you could paint. Eeny Meeny has made significant moves to reduce the cost of items and instead of paying $20 you can now get this item for only $4.95 (code 52344).
Ordering student stationery packs online
In 2012, we added another service; our new Schoolpacks website. Now parents can order their child's school stationery pack quickly and easily online. Eeny Meeny will deliver it to their door and the school can have confidence that the students will arrive with the correct stationery at the start of the school year. This has proved very popular, with many schools providing us their class lists for us to load up to the website.
Contact us now for more information on how this process works - it is very simple.
Our values are integrity, honesty, and loyalty at every point. You know, when dealing with us, that we'll be here tomorrow to back up our service, and that we treat your business as a privilege.
Personal, Friendly Service:
This is the key to the Eeny Meeny success story, and remains our focus. Only the best customer service is acceptable. In fact many of our customers are on first name terms with our staff.
